Introduction to the Training Center

Beijing Contemporary Dance Theater (BCDT) was founded in April of 2008. It serves as an external training center for the Beijing Dance Academy. The BCDT Training Center has been chosen by the Beijing Dance Academy as an internship partner for its graduates, and our top students in the training center have a chance to enter the Beijing Dance Academy. With the support of the Beijing Cultural Administration, BCDT is the first contemporary ballet dance troupe in China. It brings together top Chinese and international talent with the responsibility of creating fresh contemporary dance pieces in China.

Our training center is located on the north fourth ring road at the National Olympic Sports Center near the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube—a beautiful setting at a convenient location. Our facilities include two professional ballet studios; an office; 600 square meters of training space; changing rooms and showers.

Instructors

Wu Shanshan (Ballet)

-Masters Degree from Beijing Dance Academy, with major in Ballet Performance
-strong professional foundation, wealth of performance and teaching experience

Sun Yalu (Ballet)

-graduated Beijing Dance Academy, Ballet Performance Major.
-Principal performer and ballet master at Beijing Modern Dance.

Liu Fang (Folk Dance)

-Graduate of Central University of Ethnic Minorities, Major in Dance Pedagogy.
-Served as folk dance instructor at Heilongjiang Art Education Institute.

Peng Ge (Ballet)

-graduate of Beijing Dance Academy, Ballet Performance Major.
-participated in many large-scale national and international performances and received many awards.

Class A

4 - 6 Years Old: Sunday, 14:30 - 16:00

Class B

6 Years and Older: Saturday, 14:00 - 15:30

The National Olympic Sports Center is located on the Middle North Fourth Ring Road, just south of the Bird's Nest (just to the south of the fourth Ring Road). To find us:

DRIVING FROM EAST

1. Take 3rd Ring Road to Beichen Road (exit 45B Beichen Bridge)
2. Follow Beichen Road to Fourth Ring Road.
3. Turn Right onto Fourth Ring Road to Olympic Center North Gate
4. Enter gate and pass half way through roundabout. Then turn right.
5. Stop at third door on left. Enter and follow signs to Beijing Contemporary Dance Company.

DRIVING FROM WEST

1. Take Fourth Ring Road to Olympic Center North Gate
2. Enter and pass half way through roundabout. Then turn right.
3. Stop at third door on left. Enter and follow signs to Beijing Contemporary Dance Company.

SUBWAY INFO

There is no subway station in close walking distance. The best option is to take line 10 to either Huixinxijienankou Station or Beitucheng Station and then take a taxi (about 5 minutes and 10 RMB).
