Mr. Andersen has served as the Artistic Director of the Royal Danish Ballet since 2002, and had previously served as their Artistic Director from 1985 – 1994. In the interim, he served as Artistic Director at the Royal Swedish Ballet. His distinguished career began with training at the Ballet School of Royal Theater. He founded the Bournonville Group with principals of the Royal Danish Ballet in 1976, and became Director of the Bournonville Summer Academy from 1985 – 1992. He is a Commander of the Dannebrog Order.
