Louise Midjord

Guest Choreographer, Summer 2009

Ms. Louise Midjord’s dance career started as a student at the Royal Danish Ballet School, where she graduated in 1990, then serving for 2 years as an apprentice. In 1992, she joined the Corps de Ballet as a dancer, and her repertoire includes work by Bournoville, Kylian, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, and Balanchine.

Since 2000, she has choreographed dance works that have been showcased around the world, including Europe, the US, China, and South Africa. Her work includes The Little Match Girl (which has played in South Africa, Copenhagen, and Tivoli); Water; and last year’s Othello, which played at the Royal Danish Ballet.

She has also worked in film and video, including the work “The Egg, The Monk, and the Warrior”— a dance film that grew out of a collaboration with designers VilsbøldeArce and composer Louise Alenius Boserup for a live show at the Copenhagen Fashion Week 2008.
